WHAT IS THIS CONFERENCE ABOUT?  

 

The Dawn of InterSpirituality conference features interspiritual leaders from all over the world exploring the common core truths of all faiths. Our mission is to promote harmony and collaboration across the world religions. The theme for this year’s conference is contemplative spiritual practice.

 

 

WHO SHOULD ATTEND THIS CONFERENCE?

 

The Dawn of InterSpirituality conference is open to seekers of all faiths who are eager to learn and share in a remarkable convergence of world religions. People who identify as ‘spiritual but not religious’ are also welcome, as they constitute a major component of the emerging interspirituality movement.

 

WHAT CAN I EXPECT TO EXPERIENCE AT THE CONFERENCE?

 

The format of the Dawn of Interspirituality conference will be largely experiential. Presentations will be limited so as to allow plenty of “open space” for meaningful interactions, deep inquiry into questions of shared interest, and several periods daily of contemplative practices from diverse traditions. Rather than simply sitting and listening to lectures, there will be small group interaction, music, chanting, prayer, contemplation, nature walks, and celebration. Near the end of the conference there will be an opportunity for attendees to present on a topic near and dear to their hearts.

 

 

WHAT IS THE COST OF CONFERENCE REGISTRATION?

 

A regular conference ticket is currently being offered at a promotional rate of $295.00 USD. (Usually $450.00 – a $155.00 savings!)

 

Day passes are available and are $70.00 for one regular day pass which includes meals. Latin American citizens pay only $25.00 per day for a day pass that also includes meals.

 

Students* and Latin American Citizens** pay $175.00 USD for a conference ticket.

 

*Students must prove they are students by uploading a scan or photo of your current student ID and email it to programs@satyana.org.

 

**Individuals who choose the Latin American Citizens conference fee must prove they are Latin American Citizens by uploading a scan or photo of their current ID and email it to programs@satyana.org.

 

WHAT ARE THE DATES FOR THE CONFERENCE?

 

The conference begins on Monday March 12 at 10 a.m. and ends on Friday March 16 at 4 p.m. Central Time.

 

WHAT IS THE COST FOR ROOM AND BOARD?  

 

Rates for room and board Monday March 12 checking out Friday March 16, 2018:

Double occupancy room is $400.00 USD per person.

Single occupancy room is $700.00 USD (limited number available).

 

Meals are included from lunch on Monday March 12 to lunch on Friday March 16, 2018.

 

CAN I BOOK AN EXTRA NIGHT?

Yes, you can. Sunday March 11 and Saturday March 17 are available for and additional $50.00 USD per night.

 

WHAT WILL THE FOOD BE LIKE?  CAN YOU ACCOMMODATE SPECIAL DIETARY NEEDS?

 

Costa Rican cuisine is made from fresh locally harvested produce and is served with beans and rice. We can accommodate gluten-free, dairy-free, vegan, and vegetarian dietary needs.

 

WHAT IF I AM LOCAL AND DO NOT NEED LODGING?

 

The commuter rate is our meals only plan $175.00 USD which covers all meals throughout the duration of the conference from lunch on Monday March 12 and ending with lunch on Friday March 16.

 

DO I NEED A VISA TO TRAVEL TO COSTA RICA?

 

As of this writing, visitors from most European countries, Israel, Canada, and the USA may stay in Costa Rica for up to 90 days without applying for a visa. Travel visa requirements vary from country to country, however. For the most up to date visa information, please check with the consulate or embassy in your home country. WHAT CURRENCY SHOULD I USE IN COSTA RICA?

 

Costa Rican currency is the colón, so use colónes unless the price is advertised in dollars.

 

WHAT AIRPORT WILL I FLY INTO?

 

You will fly into the Juan Santamaria International Airport (SJO) in San José, Costa Rica.

 

HOW DO I GET FROM THE SJO AIRPORT TO CASA SILOÉ?

 

Only the orange airport taxis are authorized to pick up and drop off passengers at the Juan Santamaría International Airport. You can call ahead for reservations, 2221-6865 or 2222-6865 or request one when you arrive.  An orange taxi costs between $22 and $28 approximately, (12,000 and 14,000 colónes) for 1 to 4 people to ride from the SJO  airport to Birri, where Casa Siloé is located.  The same rate applies for the orange vans which hold up to nine people.

 

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO GET FROM THE SJO AIRPORT TO CASA SILOÉ

 

It takes about 30 to 45 minutes from the airport to the retreat center unless you are traveling during rush hour (6 a.m. to 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.) which adds about a half hour.

WHAT WILL THE WEATHER BE LIKE IN MARCH 2018?

WHAT TOURIST ATTRACTIONS ARE NEARBY IF I WANT TO EXTEND MY TRIP?

 

Space still avaialable for the one day post conference La Paz waterfall excursion on Saturday March 17. Five waterfalls, cloud forest and rain forest, safe hiking trails, aviary with numerous species of birds, butterfly observatory, capuchin (white-faced) monkeys, black-handed spider monkeys, hummingbird garden, orchid exhibit.

 

Tour price includes: 1. Transportation from Casa Siloe to La Paz. 2. Entry fee into the park. 3. Buffet Lunch

Departure time from Birri is 8 am on Saturday March 17. Departure time from La Paz Waterfall Gardens 3pm. Dropped off at the SJO airport.

WHAT IS THE CANCELLATION POLICY?

Registrations cancelled more than 60 days before the conference will be refunded 80%. Registrations cancelled less than 60 but more than 30 days before the conference will be refunded 50%. Registrations cancelled less than 30 days before the event are not eligible for a refund. You may opt for a voucher to be used at a future conference. This policy applies to conference registration fees, lodging and meal costs. Any cancellation must be received by the conference organizer in writing at samantha@GRworld.org.
